Hand dye:

  1. Fill a container with hot water: The first thing to do to dye clothes by hand is to take a plastic basin large enough so that the garment is completely submerged and loose. If it is not completely submerged, it will not be dyed homogeneously. Fill it with water as hot as the composition of the garment admits.
  2. Add the fixer and salt: Iberia dye contains a color fixer to dye clothes by hand and achieve more intense and long-lasting colors. Dissolve the powder fixative contained in the case in the basin and also add 5 tablespoons of salt for every liter of water. You can use common kitchen salt or Salt to dye Iberia with which you will achieve a greater fixation of the color. Stir until everything is well dissolved.
  3. Add the dye: To dye clothes by hand, put on rubber gloves, cut the envelopes with scissors and pour the dye into a bowl of hot water, stir until completely dissolved. Next, empty the mixture into the basin with hot water and stir gently so as not to splash.
  4. Insert the garment: Wet the garment with water and insert it into the container. Leave it completely submerged for 40 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Rinse the garment and wash it: Use the gloves again to remove the garment and rinse it under running water. Empty the container, fill it with warm water and add a squirt of detergent, submerge the garment and wash it gently without rubbing. Rinse with plenty of water and drain without twisting. Above all, remember that to dye clothes by hand, it is important that you use gloves throughout the process.
  6. Dry the garment in the shade: Lay it out on a horizontal surface so that there are no creases or marks. Do not use the dryer.

Dye in washing machine:

  1. Pre-dissolve the dye in hot water: Protect the surface where you are going to handle the dye by covering it with newspaper or some plastic and put on gloves. When opening the dye sachets, small particles may be released. You will need a container to dissolve the dye in hot water. You can use a glass or a bottle of water. Fill it halfway with hot water and carefully pour in the food coloring. Dissolve the mixture well, with a spoon or by shaking the closed bottle.
  2. Prepare the washing machine: Put salt to dye Iberia or 500g inside the drum. of common kitchen salt. Carefully cut the fixer tray at the corner and place it inside the drum as well. Enter the clothes that you are going to dye, they must be clean, dry and without folding. Do not add the dye yet, start the washing machine selecting a long program without prewash at 40ºC.
  3. Pour the dissolved dye: After 3 to 5 minutes from the start of the program, when enough water has already entered the drum, open the drawer and pour the diluted dye into the compartment marked II, the one used for detergent. Pour the dye carefully, avoiding splashing. If there are traces of dye in the bottle or in the box, add more hot water to remove them. Clean any splashes with a damp cloth.
  4. Wash the garment once it has been dyed: Once the dyeing program is finished, you must wash the garment to remove any traces of dye. Add detergent and select a one hour program, without prewash, at 40ºC.
  5. Dry the garment: Do not use the dryer. Spread the clothes on a horizontal surface in the shade, avoiding direct exposure to the sun.
